What we do

Hetras is a hotel management system built to help hoteliers focus more on guests and less on their computers. Not satisfied just with building one of the first cloud-based property management systems (PMS), we also made sure that the system is easy to use, integrate, and update. As part of the Shiji Group, Hetras is proud to play an important role in a wide-ranging open hotel and travel technology ecosystem.

To that end, we have continued to pioneer new ways to help hotels improve the guest experience through mobile solutions and in-house systems, creating an open framework that allows hotels to integrate seamlessly with new partners. Not only that, but our easy-to-use interfaces and public API have also been pushing the industry to create new and open integrations, which help hotels reduce the workload and improve guest interactions. Today, the Hetras PMS is used by the most innovative hotel companies catering to the 21st-century guest.

How we work

Part of a global organization, the Hetras team is based in central Munich (Germany), and is made up of people from the hotel industry, developers, product managers and designers, challenging the traditional hotel management software industry with our Cloud solution. We are organized in small, focused, and independent Agile teams, following Scrum methodologies.

Hetras’ office is located in the heart of Munich, with countless shops and restaurants nearby, not to mention the Isar River, just two suburban train stations away. This means that it’s easy for our employees to take a walk or run private errands during their lunch break or after work.


Working hours

At Hetras, you have the option of setting your own flexible working hours around the core hours, which enables you to combine work with the needs of your private life. This arrangement is available in almost all departments.

We hold regular Hetras company meetings. Q: How did you come to work for Hetras?

A: Once I decided to make Munich my adopted city, I was on the lookout for something that was challenging and different from what I had done so far. The position at Hetras stood out among other offers I received, since the idea of working for a startup that is revolutionizing the hotel industry excited me. So, I joined Hetras in 2011, and now, when I look back, it was the right decision.

Q: What made you join Hetras?

A: I love the fast growing tech environment and wanted to work for a software company. To tell the truth, the second thing that stood out for me was the fact that Hetras is happy to work around the schedules of working mothers – that is, the company offers flexibility for those who have a family. Being a mother of two, I need to know that, if necessary, I can stay home, look after my children when they are ill, and work from my home office. I really appreciate the sense of freedom that gives me.
